Princess Get Well Gift Basket

We got a call from an old co-worker to create a get well gift basket for a 6 year old girl who was in the hospital recovering from E.Coli. She was under observation and cooped up with a hospital on a beautiful summer weekend. We were told she loves the color pink, princesses, music, arts, glitter, babies and dogs (although we were told no stuffed dogs because she’d already received quite a few!).
We went to work right away, pulled out everything pink and girly in the workshop and this was what we finished with!
The Princess Get Well Gift Basket was packed full of Princess puzzles, activity kits, glitter crayons, Care Bears & Hannah Montana activity books, Princess story books, pens, foam beads kit and more. Finally, to make sure she got something with a dog on it, we included a Yarn by Number craft kit for her to create a yarn picture of a puppy! The basket was topped off with a pretty balloon and our signature handmade bow.
Several days later, we received this email from our client; “Word back was she loved the basket, was a big hit and there was a lot of goodies in the basket. Loved the pink. Thank you!”
It makes our hearts warm with joy to know the gift was well received and that little Chloe is feeling much better!
One dozen cake pops to give

Cake pops are the hottest thing to hit the dessert scene. They are cake blended with frosting, formed into bite sized balls dipped in chocolate coating with a lolli stick in them. We simply call them little bites of heaven. We love them so much, we now have them available by the dozen for your personal enjoyment or to give as a gift.
We have a variety of flavors available, some of our more popular flavors are chocolate, lemon, red velvet, wedding/birthday cake, carrot cake, strawberry and more. If you crave it, just ask, we may be able to make it happen. You choose a flavor or a mix and tell us what colors or theme you’d like it to match.
This picture is for a dozen red, blue & white chocolate cake pops we did for a 4th of July birthday party a few weeks ago. We delivered it boxed and wrapped in coordinating ribbon with a personal message.
Now, who wouldn’t want to receive a box full of these goodies for their birthday?!

We have them baked fresh for you so order early, we need at least 3-5 days notice for a fresh batch of these treats!
Sweetest Day
When I first saw the words Sweetest Day on the calendar, I thought ‘Cupcakes’! I mean who wouldn’t?! A lot of ideas could be running through your minds right now trying to imagine what Sweetest Day could mean. After some research, I find out it is actually a day to make others feel special. Now how great is that?!
So many times, we go through the motions of life rarely taking time out to appreciate the people that mean the most to us. Take the time to acknowledge those who have been kind or helpful to you or those family or friends who make your life special. It is best celebrated by celebrating others and doing something special to make others happy. Give a gift or flowers to those in need who are sick, aged or orphaned, to your friends, relatives and those who have touched your life.
Sweetest Day is said to have been started in the 1920’s by Herbert Birch Kingston, a Cleveland, Ohio philanthropist and candy company employee. He wanted to make people who were orphaned and under-privilaged happy and thought that there should be an occasion to make them feel special by giving them candy and gifts. There are other reports that say the day was created by a group of candy makers. It is celebrated every 3rd Saturday of October. This year it will be on October 15th.
Regardless of it’s origins, the idea of the day is to take the time to show love to people in need or those who are special to us who we wouldn’t normally give special attention to.
Who would you like to show some sweet love to this year? Let us help you.

How Admin Professionals Day came about
Posted in: Blog
National Secretaries Week was created in 1952 through the efforts of Harry F. Klemfuss, a New York publicist. Working in conjunction with the National Secretaries Association, later known as the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), Klemfuss wanted to encourage more people to consider careers in the secretarial/administrative support field.
In 1955, the observance date of National Secretaries Week was moved to the last full week of April. The name was changed to Professional Secretaries Week in 1981, and became Administrative Professionals Week in 2000 to encompass the expanding responsibilities and wide-ranging job titles of administrative support staff. Â Interestingly enough the IAAP is headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, and remains the sole sponsor of Administrative Professionals Week and Administrative Professionals Day.
Over the years, Administrative Professionals Week has become one of the largest workplace observances. The event is celebrated worldwide through community events, social gatherings, and individual corporate activities recognizing support staff with gifts. In the United States, the day is often celebrated by giving one’s assistant gifts such as flowers, candy, trinkets, lunch at a restaurant, or time off. So let us help you create the perfect gift for you Admin or Assistant this year! Â Call us at 636-328-3922 to discuss the possibilities.

What is Easter?
Posted in: Blog
Many of us know Easter as the Easter bunny, Cadbury eggs, Peeps and Easter Egg Hunts. Â But there is more to Easter than just candy. Â Read on if you’d like to learn more.
Easter is the most important annual religious feast in the Christian liturgical year.  According to Christian scripture, Jesus was resurrected from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion. Some Christians celebrate this resurrection on Easter Day orEaster Sunday, two days after Good Friday and three days after Maundy Thursday. The chronology of his death and resurrection is variously interpreted to be between AD 26 and AD 36. Easter also refers to the season of the church year called Eastertide or theEaster Season. Traditionally the Easter Season lasted for the forty days from Easter Day until Ascension Day but now officially lasts for the fifty days untilPentecost. The first week of the Easter Season is known as Easter Week or the Octave of Easter. Easter also marks the end of Lent, a season of fasting, prayer, and penance.
Easter is linked to the Jewish Passover not only for much of its symbolism but also for its position in the calendar. In most European languages the feast called Easter in English is termed by the words for passover in those languages and in the older English versions of the Bible the term Easter was the term used to translate passover.
Easter is a moveable feast, meaning it is not fixed in relation to the civil calendar. The date of  Easter varies between March 22 and April 25.
Relatively newer elements such as the Easter Bunny, Easter egg hunts and the giving of gift baskets have become part of the holiday’s modern celebrations, and those aspects are often celebrated by many Christians and non-Christians alike. There are also some Christian denominations who do not celebrate Easter.

International Women’s Day
Posted in: Blog
International Women’s Day (IWD) is marked on March 8 every year. It is a major day of global celebration for the economic, political and social achievements of women.
International Women’s Day has been observed since in the early 1900’s, a time of great expansion and turbulence in the industrialized world that saw booming population growth and the rise of radical ideologies.
IWD is now an official holiday in China, Armenia, Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. The tradition sees men honoring their mothers, wives, girlfriends, colleagues, etc with flowers and small gifts. In some countries IWD has the equivalent status of Mother’s Day where children give small presents to their mothers and grandmothers.
The IWD is also celebrated as the first spring holiday in the Northern Hemisphere as the first day of March is considered the first day of the spring season.
Annually on 8 March, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. A global web of rich and diverse local activity connects women from all around the world ranging from political rallies, business conferences, government activities and networking events through to local women’s craft markets, theatric performances, fashion parades and more.
So make a difference, think globally and act locally!! Make everyday International Women’s Day. Do your bit to ensure that the future for girls is bright, equal, safe and rewarding. AND take time to honor a woman in your life this year with a small or big gift from us. Visit our STORE.
